Federal Signal Launches Retail Locations, Opens First Rental Store (02/07)
TOLEDO, Ohio (Feb. 8, 2007) — Federal Signal's Environmental Solutions Group has announced the opening of four strategically located retail outlets under the name FS Certified Equipment, including an entirely new location in Toledo dedicated to Jetstream product rentals.
FS Certified Equipment locations in Burmingham, Ala.; Streator, Ill., and Houston repair, refurbish and sell used Guzzler industrial vacuum loaders, Vactor sewer and catch basin cleaners and Jetstream waterblasters. They also repair and refurbish competitive equipment, offer OEM parts and accessories, and in some cases, equipment rentals.
"All FS Certified Equipment locations provide access to factory-trained, certified technicians and genuine OEM parts," said Tony Fuller, director, Industrial Sales for Federal Signal's Environmental Solutions Group. "The businesses represented by the Guzzler, Jetstream and Vactor brands are specialized in nature. Customers look to our technicians for recommendations and solutions to the unique challenges of their particular applications."
New Toledo Location Dedicated to Jetstream Rentals
Initially, the newly opened FS Certified Equipment Toledo location will be devoted to rentals of Jetstream waterblasters. It will also stock a wide range of Jetstream parts and accessories and offer service and training.
"This is the first of a series of FS Certified Equipment rental locations we plan to open around the country," Fuller said.
Contractors will be able to rent equipment when they need it, based on seasonal peaks. "Our customers who help maintain power plants, for instance, tend to be busiest in the spring and fall, when utilities take shutdowns before power demand ramps up with hot or cold weather," said Fuller. Some firms work with manufacturing plants that schedule turnarounds in slow seasons. Others may receive contracts that have only limited duration.
"Lots of people have short-term contractual obligations, and it may not make sense for them to invest in new waterblasters to meet them," he added. "Just as important, renting can give you the equipment you need to get a job you otherwise couldn't go after." Fuller also noted that FS Certified Equipment will offer rent-to-own solutions for those qualifying customers who need to add a unit to their fleet but may not be prepared to meet the down payment requirements of traditional financing.
Choice of Equipment Available
FS Certified Equipment in Toledo will rent Jetstream units ranging from 170 to 500 horsepower, capable of pressure conversions from 10K to 20K and 40K psi.
Fuller noted that customers can pick up the units or FS Certified Equipment can deliver right to the job site.
